PBDG at Dynamo Donuts

Psycho Donuts will always be THE donut source for PBDG, but when a girl isn’t in the South Bay, she has to get her donuts somewhere. Where, you ask? Dynamo Donuts and Coffee!!

so yummy with latte!

Director Don Starnes and I have been trying to visit this donut mecca in San Francisco for months, but something always prevents us — production meeting runs long, train schedule doesn’t fit, etc.ย  We finally made it on Sunday, en route to the SFFS Hemingway and Gellhorn screening. (Shout out to PBDG sound mixer Lou Wiskes, who worked on H&G.)

Back to the donuts.

Dynamo makes seasonal donuts with amazing unusual flavors.

It’s hard to choose…

flavors of the day

We were FORCED to get one of each ๐Ÿ˜‰

yes, we got them all. do you have a problem with that??

Don ate 5 of them, I only had 1/2…

OK, I had a ton.ย  My favorite on the day we were there was apricot cardamom.

Next time you are in the Mission, check out Dynamo. 2760 24th St., between Hampshire & York.

I asked if I could come back and take more photos in the kitchen, so stand by for an early morning donut photorama sometime in the future.

Wade Krause goes to Pinburgh

Wade with Luther's Vendetta Wade Krause, pinball artist and PBDG supporter, let me tag along with him in Pittsburgh as he attended PAPA’s Pinburgh tournament, checked out Dave Baach’s amazing custom games, and met with local artists.

Wade collaborates with Dave, and I was able to go behind the scenes to find out what they are up to, including a chance to see theย  Brian Holderman custom Luther’s Vendetta and Freak Out by Mike Budai.

Dave showed us all around Pittsburgh, going above and beyond as a host. Thank you, Dave!

Another highlight was a visit to the amazing collection of Ed Beeler (more photos coming of Ed’s place). Wade and I had a great time exploring 8,000 square feet of pinball and arcade games.

Harry Snodgrass, Sound DesignerBack in Pittsburgh, Wade checked out the work of fellow screen printer Andy Warhol at the Warhol Museum.

Is Wade contemplating the Trinity Cathedral, or wondering how his El Dorado boards are drying back in Clovis, CA? Thank you for the great company, Wade!

PBDG Behind the Scenes with Anna

While Director Don Starnes and Editor Rick LeCompte get PBDG ready to ship on to sound design, I’m working on the bonus material captured by Audrey Daniel during the PBDG shoot.

Here’s a little interview where I talk about pinball and PBDG.

Speaking of documentary footage, check out a clip from the work in progress by technology historian and filmmaker Jason Scott of Get Lamp
